General terms and conditions

Sport Mike, Panoramastraße 31, 6450 Sölden provides online rental service of winter sport equipment; service to reserve and book winter sport equipment, ski school packages, as well as reserving storage lockers for winter sport equipment. In addition also offers insurance policies to cover damage, breakage and theft of the rented equipment. SPORT MIKE serves as an agent for ski instruction included in the all-in-one packages, and cannot be held liable for possible rate and exchange rate adjustments. Please note that reservations are binding.

The rates are listed in the second step of the reservation process. The process may be terminated at this point. All rates include taxes and charges. Prices are displayed in euro, and will also be charged as such.
We accept credit card payments.
Reservation confirmation, issuing of voucher
The customer confirms the correctness of entered personal data with the completion of the reservation. The reservation is valid when the customer has received a confirmation from SPORT MIKE. The customer is responsible for checking all information for correctness. Differences, discrepancies, or other problems must immediately be brought to the attention of SPORT MIKE.
Withdrawal, Cancellation
Bookings must be cancelled in writing and are possible under the following conditions:
  • - 15% of booked materials or services will be retained for cancellations made 10 days or more before the first day of rental.
  • - 25% of booked materials or services will be retained for cancellations made between 9 – 3 days before the first day of rental.
  • - 35% of booked materials or services will be retained for cancellations made between 2 – 1 day(s) before the first day of rental.
  • - Cancellations on the first day of booking:
    No refunds will be given if the customer is in default of acceptance. In case of sickness or accident and upon presenting an official confirmation from a physician, the customer may withdraw from the contract and is entitled to a refund of money paid.
Picking up and returning gear
The customer is welcome to pick up reserved gear from 3:00 p.m. on the day before first day of rental. Please note that you must have a photo ID. The gear must be returned before end of business on the last rental day. Should you decide to keep the gear longer, you will be charged the difference to local rates. These charges are payable directly in the shop. Should the gear, or parts of the gear, be returned late without a prior notice, the SPORT MIKE reserves the right to charge a late fee. The customer is responsible for returning the gear in a complete and perfect condition.
Upgrading/downgrading categories
You may upgrade the rental gear category by paying the difference. If you downgrade to a cheaper category, SPORT MIKE will not reimburse the difference.
The customer may only use the rented gear for it's intended use and functionality. Yu are entitled to free replacement in the same category of the rental gear should it show preexisting defects or damage. Should this not be possible, both parties have the right to cancel the rental agreement. The rental gear may not be passed on to third party, and we expressly point out that unauthorized ski switching can cause serious injuries (because of binding adjustments, etc.). The customer is solely responsible for protecting the gear from theft or mix-ups – the gear is not insured. The customer is therefore also responsible for reimbursing SPORT MIKE for repair costs and present value should the gear break, be damaged or by theft. Exemption: Prior assumption of liability agreement with the rental store.
Damage, breakage and theft insurance for rented gear
If the customer checks the "insurance" option, the following conditions apply:
Object of the agreement
The customer is generally responsible for reimbursing the renting party for damaged, broken or stolen equipment. The object of this agreement is that SPORT MIKE assumes partial liability for damage or theft of rented equipment.
SPORT MIKE insurance benefits
SPORT MIKE assumes the liability to cover the costs for unintentionally damaged or broken equipment for a fee. In case of theft or loss of equipment, the policy holder pays a deductible according to category of equipment:
  • Basic € 100,-
  • Economy € 200,-
  • Sport € 300,-
  • Platin € 400,-
  • Children & youth € 50,-
Policy holder notice of claim
The customer must report damage or theft immediately as incurred. The notice of claim must state reservation number, name and address of customer and renting shop, place of damage/loss, a detailed description of the incident, a description of the damaged/missing equipment, a copy of the police report (in case of theft), a damage report by the respective rental shop (in case of damage), as well as name and address of any and all witnesses.
Release from obligation to perform
The agreement is valid for the equipment and for the time period stated in the reservation confirmation. SPORT MIKE is not liable for incidents (like damage/theft) that occurred during extended use according to agreements made later. SPORT MIKE is only liable for the value of originally rented equipment, also in case of damage/loss of category upgraded equipment. The customer is liable for the difference.
Exclusion of liability
If the rental equipment is abused, misused, used improperly or in a way not intended, SPORT MIKE assume no liability for damage or loss. SPORT MIKE also does not assume liability for bodily injury, damage to property belonging to the customer or third party. Should third party use the equipment, all claims are void. SPORT MIKE will not compensate for normal wear and tear, such as coating repairs, waxing, edge grinding.
The premium rates for the SPORT MIKE insurance is 10% of the total rental costs. The premium is payable in advance and is charged together with the rental equipment.

Privacy policy

Use of your personal information
SPORT MIKE needs the following personal information to complete a transaction: First name, last name, email address, home country, and payment information such as credit card or bank account information. We protect the security of your credit card and account information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. We do not use the information for any other purpose.
Credit cards
SPORT MIKE uses the payment services of B&S Card-Service. That means that the credit card or bank account information is transferred with an encrypted transmission to B&S Card-Service, who then complete the financial transactions.
Linked Websites
Please note that the SPORT MIKE data privacy rules apply to Should you follow a link to an external Website, note that their data privacy rules apply. SPORT MIKE team place great importance on the quality of linked Websites, but cannot influence the data privacy rules on third party's Websites.
Place of jurisdiction
Innsbruck, Tyrol is the sole place of jurisdiction for all legal disputes concerning data privacy of SPORT MIKE.
Negotiating language
The official language of this website is German. All translations in additional languages are only intended to provide information for our customers. The legally binding version of our terms and conditions, including the privacy policy, is the version written in German.
Severability clause
Should any part of this agreement be invalid for any reason, it is to be replaced with a corresponding text, which is valid and equivalent to the intended meaning. The rest of the agreement shall remain unaffected and valid.
